Industrial Access Road Improvements

The City of Bessemer is seeking bids for the construction of the “Industrial Access Road Improvements” that includes the following major items of work: Road reconstruction consisting of HMA Paving, Aggregate Base, Breaker Run Drainage Layer, Geogrid, Drain Tile, Shouldering, Restoration, and Related Work. The Contract Documents may be examined at Coleman Engineering Company at 200 E Ayer St. Ironwood, MI 49938. The contract documents may be viewed and downloaded at www.coleman-engineering.com by selecting “Bid Information”. Interested parties may view the contract documents at no cost on the website prior to becoming a plan holder. Downloading and printing the contract documents will require registering with QuestCDN online (www.questcdn.com). A non-refundable fee of $22.00 will be charged to download the contract documents. Paper copies of the contract documents may be obtained by contacting Coleman Engineering Company. A non-refundable fee of $50.00 will be charged for each hard copy set of the contract documents. No bid shall be accepted unless accompanied by a bid security payable to the City of Bessemer in an amount not less than 5% of the base bid.

Trailhead Engineer

The City of Bessemer requests the submission of proposals from engineering firms experienced in non-motorized trailhead projects to provide design plans, utility design, and final project plans for a Michigan Department of Natural Resources Trust Fund Grant Development Project awarded to the City of Bessemer for the Iron Belle Trailhead, located on the Iron Belle Trail. The Iron Belle Trailhead project will be located on city-owned property on the corner of Colby Street and South Moore Street, adjacent to the current Iron Belle Trail. The proposed project includes a restroom facility located within a small pavilion, a connecting trail from the pavilion to the Iron Belle trail, large concrete pad for a learn to bike/ice-skating rink area, ADA compliant sidewalks, and a paved parking lot. Cemetery Tree Removal

The City of Bessemer is seeking bids to remove (4) Ash trees, (5-7) Maple trees (trimming\partial removal) and (3) additional stumps, from within the Hillcrest Cemetery at 410 E Cinnabar St., Bessemer, Michigan. The city will be accepting bids until August 14th, 2026, at 10:00 AM (CST). Sealed bids can be handed in at city hall located at 411 S. Sophie Street, Bessemer Michigan, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Please label the outside envelope with “Cemetery Tree Removal - 2026” The City reserves the right to delete trees from the bid, depending on budgeting and timing constraints. Winter Sand

The City of Bessemer is requesting bids for the delivery of 1,500 yards of screened sand which must be delivered to the City Garage by September 30th, 2026. The City of Bessemer will be accepting sealed bids until 10 AM CST on August 6th, 2026, at which time they will be opened. All bids must be marked as “Sand Bid 2026” on the outer envelope. The City of Bessemer is looking for proposals for the creation and maintenance of a new City website.
