Michigan Western Gateway Trail Authority Trail Repairs
The Michigan Western Gateway Trail Authority is accepting bids for 10’ wide asphalt trail repairs to be priced on a lineal foot basis. Work consists of cutting out existing asphalt, excavate down 2’ and remove roots and earth material, haul out, import gravel, remove tree roots and brush and trees on side of trail (pushing them over), pave back 2.5” of asphalt, restore shoulders with topsoil, seed and mulch.
Anticipated sections are as follows: 60’ by Round Table in Bessemer, 50’ by Plywood Plant Road in Bessemer, 10’ by Montreal River bridge at WI / MI bridge, and 20’ by the big trestle bridge where the Iron Belle Trail crosses the snowmobile trail in between Bessemer and Ironwood.
All work must be completed by October 31, 2025.
